If anyone is looking for some entertainment the first weekend in May, I will be joining a very talented cast in a performance of “The Diary Of Anne Frank” at the Charles R. Wood theater in downtown Glens Falls.
Performances are at 8 pm on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5. There will also be a Sunday matinee at 2pm on May 6.

Albany Talent has scheduled its April Open Call:Orientation for New Models and Actors, for Tuesday April 24 7PM at the downtown Albany office, 750 Broadway, 1st floor. At the Open Call, you will meet owner James Pentaudi and learn how Albany Talent works, how we get work, how we select talent, how we represent talent and how we book work. Robert Manaser and Larry Julien work as a duo for the newest Otto Cadillac commercial, being produced by Time Warner Cable and Jake Diefendorf. The shoot is at The Desmond and should be airing soon.

X-Factor Auditions are being held at Huck Finn’s Warehouse in our own Albany, NY on Saturday, April 28th. Here is the deal: From these auditions - 4 winners will be selected and sent to Providence RI on May 9th for a guaranteed audition with show producers. The four winners will be from the four different categories on the show: Girls 12-29, Boys 12-29, over 30, and Groups (so yes, a group counts as one winner). If you’re not familiar, X Factor is a singing contest with a 5 million dollar prize that airs on FOX! So, although contests are not the end all-be all of singing, this is a really big opportunity for someone from our area to audition, work your chops and to possibly make it on the show.
A few extra insights: 1) Nationally X Factor is running short on groups this season and therefore chances of getting on the show increase! 2) FOX23 will only be sending one group on but people can still show up in Providence RI. 3) Submitting a video could win someone a local audition and get their video shown on the FOX23 morning news.
