AT’s Jean-Remy Monnay, director of the Soul Rebel Performance Theatre, is directing a theatrical production of the play “Intimate Apparel” at the Soul Rebel House, 1501 1st Ave., Watervliet, from September 23 thru October 2.
Written by Lynn Nottage, it’s a story set in segmented Victorian New York, a place where a black prostitute, a white millionaire matron and an Orthodox Jewish merchant would never meet. But through her work sewing beautiful corsets, Esther befriends all three, as they search for love and happiness against the odds.
Performances are Friday & Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 2:30pm. Tickets are $15 adults, $8 under 17 and can be purchased at the door or by calling 518-833-2621 or soulrebelperformancetroupe.org.
