Guys, I’ve talked to the gentleman in charge, and we can get a $50 fee for the actors doing this charity event. For those of you who are animal lovers or just enjoy doing charity work, this should be a lot of fun. Please get back to me at [email protected] if you wish to be a part of this important event. Read below:
Dear Mr. Pentaudi:
I am writing on behalf of the SPCA of Upstate New York. We are a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located in both Queensbury, and Saratoga Springs. On Saturday, May 2, 2015, we will hold our first annual celebrity auction event called Hollywood for Homeless Pets. This family friendly event will be from 4pm until 9pm and will be held at the Canfield Casino in downtown Saratoga Springs.
Each of our Hollywood for Homeless Pets events will be themed, and the theme for our first event will be “A Salute to the Hollywood Superhero”. The event will consist of a silent and simultaneous online auction, special guest celebrities on hand for meet and greets and autographs/photo ops, superhero-themed activities including a fantasy photo booth and more, raffles, a cosplay contest, food and drink, live entertainment, roaming performers and more!
At this time, we are in the process of booking a handful of “special superhero guests” at the event who will represent well known superheroes from comic books and movies. These superhero guests would be similar to the familiar characters seen at theme parks like Cinderella and Aladdin at Disney World, etc… We would hope to “hire” individuals who would be most suitable not only to physically represent these familiar and beloved superhero characters, but also to portray them in meet and greets and photo ops with children and fans who attend our event.
That being said, I have made a few attempts at advertising on social media, and with local actor/actress groups and portals in hopes of receiving a favorable response, but have only had a small group of people who seem interested. At this time, I have about 3 or 4 volunteers who are willing and able to join us on May 2nd to be our “special superhero guests”, but I would still like to consider adding a few more.
I am wondering if this is an area where your talent management agency could possibly be of assistance? Would you please consider our situation and, at your earliest convenience, respond with any advice, thoughts or suggestions you may have?
Of course, being a non-profit, and this being our first attempt at such a large event, we don’t currently have a very big budget, but we’re still working hard at gaining more sponsorships. I certainly don’t wish to ask for anything for free, but if you do have any means of helping out a non-profit animal charity at any form of discounted rate, we would be most appreciative. We would also be more than happy to provide you with a receipt for any amount considered “donated” if this should help for tax purposes. If you would be willing to help, your company would also be considered a business sponsor and would receive inclusion in what will be a very aggressive advertising and marketing campaign. If this is something that you would be interested in, I would be happy to provide you with more details.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Respectfully,
Mark Inglis
